Mongolia -The herder life-

I had a chance to spend my time in Mongolia
I haven't seen such a vast field with tons of animals
Many nomad people live as many ancestors had been living in the land
They were living with land, sky, wind, sun and animals

Morning milking of yaks
People let a calf suck the teat of its mother, then people get some milk

Cows and yaks were so calm while they are milked
It seems people and animals have been building a good relationship

A stubborn calf

Milking horses
In summer, herders have plenty of milk
They make alcohol called "airag" from mare milk
It has sour taste with really weak alcohol

All the animals are relaxed and enjoying the summer time

A calf challenge

Mongolian children

No matter how age they are, everyone steps on a horse and rides like wind
Children help parents well
It seems family members are supporting each other

Evening joy

I heard that Mongolians have strong eyesight and didn't know that
such a little boy uses a telescope

A boy uses my stethoscope  and listens to his heart beats

Animals and nature

Sun set time

Smell some rain coming

Squashed animals
Goats and sheep have totally different nature
Goats are playful and sheep are so timid

So it's hard to catch a sheep

Haven't seen such a beautiful night sky for a long time

And late coming moon was shining like the sun

I found that Mongolian clothes washing is pretty easy
There were plenty of places to dry

Breakfast

Colts are tied to a rope so that mere stay near by
This is how people can get milk from horse

The meat seller
I got a great peace of sheep meat from this herder
My life is supported by many great lives
