Chaguchagu umako

Chaguchagu umako is one of the famous festival in Morioka
This festival started 200 years ago to pray for a rich harvest
Hundreds of dressed up horses walk from one shrine to the main shrine in Morioka
I went to the very beginning shrine which is 15 km away from the final shrine

We had a heavy rain in the middle
Following pictures were taken at the first shrine and last shrine

A girl who is supposed to ride a horse is waiting for the horse to get dressed
Standing with her grandma, looked bit worry

Each horse goes to shrine to pray

Waiting lot

70 year old, old grandma horse

She was so excited to get on the horse

On the way

Final shrine
Horses were tired after long walk and heavy rain
