Trip to Kerala, India

I went to Kerala in India for two weeks
One of the important city in Kerala, Cochin is the place where many European came and lived before
Hindu, Christian, Islam and Jew culture have been blended and created an unique atmosphere

I could see many places, meet many people and feel various things
Kerala was a beautiful place and food was delicious

I felt like people over there are struggling not to loose themselves in this complicated society
There were rich and poor people, but it seemed both of them were walking on a rail
to reach to their destination

A fisher resting in the afternoon (near marine drive walkway in Kochi)

Chinese fishing nets in Fort Kochi

Flower seller waiting to get a jetty to reach Fortkochi (Vipin-Fortkochi Jankar jetty)

People watching yield of a fishery

goats in Fort Kochi

Mattancherry locates near Fort Kochi
It  was the first trade hub of Kerala and people used to export spices such as pepper and turmeric and tea from this place

When we ordered coffee, a man started to fold his mundu, a traditional man clothes and started cooking
In Kerala, coffee is one of the popular drink as well as chai

Inside the dark shop

Islam resident area of Mattancherry

Rising sun in the back water of Kochi

Fish is eaten daily in Kerala
There was always coconut and often fish on my plate

Kerala people eat not only eat chicken but also goat, buffalo and beef

Varkala beach and Munroe back water
They locate in southern direction from Kochi

Morning run

Back water
It is good to visit but hard to live in rainy season
In rainy season, water changes from fresh water to sea water

Inside the village, between houses

Thrissure Annakotta (Anathavalam)
There are several big temples in Thrissure
Male elephants are necessary in the festival in Kerala
There are about 60 to 80 elephants in this sanctuary owned by Guruvayoor temple
Male elephants get violent during their musth

When I stayed in elephant city in Jaipur last year,
I heard that most of the elephant in Jaipur are female and
male elephants are lent from Kerala for mating

Elephants over there were cleaning their area by themselves
They have strong and large ivory

Bath time
The mahout had the same color with his elephant

On the way back we had palm
It was smooth and juicy

Dairy farm in a temple
People take good care of cows in India
I have been seeing many farmers in Japan and those farmers were highly depending on machine.
On the contrast, farmers in India have lots of man power
Therefore barn and body of the cows are pretty clean
